Boyfriend saves the day

On the PD Day that my co-workers and I attended last week, I wore my fancy suede booties and my sale-purchase from Anthropologie: the striped sweater.  I was ever so careful walking around people with coffee and food all the time so nobody would spill anything on me.

Then it was break time. I ended up being so cold in the building that I left my jacket laying on my legs to keep me warm. I decided to grab a hot chocolate. I brought it to the table I was sitting at, and drank it slowly. I even finished it! By that time it was around lunch and the only sink avail was in the washroom. I rinsed out the cup as hot chocolate always has gunk on the bottom, and chucked it in the garbage. That was my main mistake. Not being careful chucking my cup out.

I failed to notice for about 45 second, as at this point I was using the washroom and looked down and saw this…

Moments after the incident.

Some advice from co-workers was to wash it off immediately. Well that didn’t seem right, because then I’d have huge water stains. But what’s worse? Water stained, or hot chocolate stained? I decided to leave it and end up looking for a different way to get this dirt out of my boot. Someone told me to use a wire suede specific brush, and maybe use part vinegar part water after.

I brought my boots home and the boyfriend thankfully had a pity party for me. We let it sit for two whole… very long days in the hall way. I was then getting agitated trying to figure out how to get this stain out without ruining my new boots. Everything was left into the hands of the Boyfriend as he’s a pro at getting stains out of my clothes (I’m a messy eater). And so he did!! I mean look at them! I can’t even tell where the stain was!!!

SO PROUD.

Oh, and if one spill wasn’t enough? I totally almost ruined my Anthropologie sweater cardigan by splashing soup all on my face and having it fall right on top of my brand new top. Awesome. Thankfully it was a white soup (potato something or other) instead of a permanent stained tomato based one. WHEWF…

Streets of Yorkville

I would just love to spend a handful of months just walking and people watching around the streets of Toronto. Especially the uppity fashion district on Bay/Bloor.

A couple of weekends ago the Boyf and I attended a wedding at one of the University of Toronto halls and spent the next day walking around that particular part of Toronto. I decided to be a tourist and take a few snap shots while I was gazing at the stores that I dare not step in for fear that I wanted to buy a $2,000 Prada purse. Don’t want to be tempted!

I only wanted to go to two places when we were on our mini-vacation getaway to Toronto, and that was Sephora and Anthropologie.

I’d rather go to the Sephora up on Bay and Bloor area because it’s never as crowded and overly busy as the one in the Eaton Centre. The Eaton Centre one always runs out of products that you want to buy too. Plus, at the Bay/Bloor Sephora location there’s always someone to help you. I wanted to get color matched for a couple of foundations, but didn’t want to buy anything because I like getting freebies while ordering online — they give you the option from 9 different samples and you’ll always get to pick out 3 to receive with your order when you do so online.

Going into Anthropologie is a trip in itself. It’s a pretty expensive store, but you need to really love the place to buy things full price, or be on vacation in Edmonton (ahem). I headed straight to the sale rack to see what I could find. But then I overheard one female say to her mother, dressed in a faux (or was it real?) fur vest, freshly highlight hair (oh that so wasn’t real) looking quite expensive herself “Ahho mah. Mutha, I can’t get over how reasonable these prices are in here!” While she was picking up a cardigan and flicking it back down. After she put the sweater down, I pounced over to see what she was looking at, and how expensive it was. $148 for a cardigan! LOLOLOL. I laughed quietly right then and there. Of course the Boyf was with me, so he overheard and I wasn’t actually laughing like a lunatic by myself.

After I was done picking up the (Twist Of Fate) cardigan which was on 60% off its original $138 price tag that I tried on in Edmonton but was too pricey to purchase…

… we headed back to the hotel (ooh la la Marriott has nice rooms) to pick up our car and drove home. (Psst to see me wearing the T.O.F. cardigan I wore it in last weeks OOTWW.)

Ohh what a nice quick getaway to a foreign expensiveville Yorkville.

I feel great!

Believe it or not, this is finally the first day that I haven’t felt a nasty flavor in my mouth when I swallowed. I hope it’s not that Green Monster that I tried on Saturday, but I’m not going to try it again for another little while either.

I went on a hunt for skinny pants for work, during lunch yesterday and I wore them to work today. They look more black than charcoal, even though I also did buy a black pair too. Either way, you’ll see them in the OOTWW posts coming up on Friday!

I knew this was a busy time of year at work when our new fiscal year starts in October, and everything comes to an end / we have our annual general meeting and so much new marketing and graphic design stuff has to be produced like Canada savings bonds, student loan brochures, re-vamp old brochures, mingle with some acquaintances and colleagues over BBQ’s (hey, I’m not complaining about that one). Lots of running around! Literally, because I kind of bailed on my running friends for the longest time, and I realized that if I don’t start running again now, I’ll fall into the trap of not working out for like a whole year again.

It’s just so hectic at work, and I love it! I love being so incredibly busy that I feel that the days just fly by. Then it will soon be time for my weekend getaway! Eee!!
