What I Ate Wednesday: #2

What I Ate Wednesday
Is this even interesting to you? What I ate yesterday, put into a post for today? If you’d like me to continue (or stop for that matter) just let me know. I’m trying to switch things up a bit on my blog. Have a variety of fitness, beauty and food related posts. I am TRYING to eat healthy every day with little to no sugary processed foods. Frickin hard man. I love me some candy and pepsi.

Either way I had a pretty fantastic (re: athletic) day yesterday and felt on top of the world. I’ll get more into that on my weekly fitness recap next Tuesday.

8:45am — A berry smoothie. I had plans on making a purely chocolate, banana + peppermint extract. Except when I made it, and taste-tested it, I nearly vom’ed. It was disgusting. I put 1 tablespoon of extract in, and probably should have stuck to 1-2 drops. A lesson learned. Thus the second smoothie of the morning was made after I poured the other one down the sink. This was made with zero ice, so I ended up throwing in frozen blueberries, handful of strawberries and raspberries, filled it with some greek yogurt and milk and that’s that. WIAW Bfast

10:45am — Had a snack before I went to yoga and bouldering. WIAW preworkout snack

2:50pm — Came home from 75 minutes of yoga, and 1 hour bouldering and filled my belly with this delicious lunch. I didn’t want my sandwich to end. I’m definitely picking up more of these. They’re from Whole Foods and simply turkey and cheese on a baguette, but good lord that bread was the perfect amount of crunch to chewiness. Craving it already.WIAW lunch

6:25pm — Feelin’ a bit hungry but not fully ready for supper to be cooked. So I made myself a cup of tea (Tetley! The only way to go) and 2 pieces of Whole Foods biscotti. Hit the spot.WIAW 6pm snack

7:45pm — Hungry for supper. Made a huge chicken salad with feta, mushrooms, green pepper, tomatoes, dried cranberries, and carrots. No dressing, I prefer it that way.WIAW salad supper

10:25pm — The Guy and I went to the movies and saw X-Men. I never not buy popcorn and a drink to share. We had the entire theatre to ourselves!WIAW popcorn

What snacks do you buy when you go to the movies?

What are you making for supper?

Today is National Running Day, thanks to Sheena for letting me in on the know-how. So I’m thinking of going to Yoga first (we’ll see) then doing the longest run of my entire life. Take a while guess at what I’m going to do. Hahahaha. Guess.

What I Ate Wednesday: First Edition!

What I Ate WednesdayI’m not sure I ever participated in a What I Ate Wednesday. This is a documentation of what I ate yesterday.

Most mornings  (since last week), I’ve been making The Guy and I smoothies. Thank the lord I bought some cocoa powder because I’m not the biggest fan of berry smoothies, I mean, I’ll drink them — but you know… chocolate is where it’s at.

9:45am Smoothie made with greek yogurt, ice cubes, chocolate milk, cocoa powder, cinnamon, vanilla extract, half a banana, 3 large strawberries and a couple of raspberries.WIAW smoothie

10:45am Raw nuts with some dark chocolate thrown in, unsweetened dried mango, rapberriesWIAW nuts

3:45 A little snack time at Trader Joe’s sample area. Corn chips and green tea lemonadeWIAW TJs samples

4:15pm PIZZA!! You guys know I go to this place on the regular. So much I get hugs from the staff every time I go in, ha ha ha!!WIAW pizza

5:40pm Since I went so many hours without eating while I was at yoga and climbing, I still felt hungry after my pizza. So I made a cup of tea, ate some chocolate covered raisins, a peach, and these weird “chips” made out of peas, from Trader Joe’s. They were ok. WIAW tea snack

8:30pm Finally got some vegetables in my system. Lemon pepper chicken stir fry which I posted on Instagram last night. Mrs Dash seasoning isn’t as good as the Bulk Barn lemon pepper, so I’m on the hunt for the perfect Lemon Pepper seasoning down here in the states. This one has too much of a lemon cleaner flavour. Go figure ;)WIAW supper

Side note, I’m thinking of doing another Day In The Life post. I could’ve easily documented yesterday. I did an hour of yoga and went for a two hour boulder session at the gym yesterday. I was so happy, I felt like doing the Carlton Dance to the Pharrell William’s Happy.

What I ate Wednesday

I thought I’d participate in What I Ate Wednesday going around on the blogs that I’ve been reading lately. I woke up extra early because I had a special treat delivered to me at work yesterday; a lunch bag full of Chobani! Yum! Thanks Emily.

The past few weeks I’ve been waking up an hour earlier than usual. I like having the extra time to sit around and relax in the mornings. Especially when it comes to Alfie pup cuddles!Wednesday’s are the longer days at work, because we have to go into work a half hour earlier than usual. But this morning didn’t stop me from surprising my Boyfriend with a Big Breakfast in bed!

I cooked all the hot stuff first, of course. Then I decided to make a greek yogurt parfait with the chobani. What flavor to pick though? Can you guess which one I went with?

I added strawberries on the bottom, strawberry chobani, and granola from the Blue Menu box from Zehrs. Soo good with yogurt. It’s one of my go-to breakfasts in the summer time. Nice and cool.

Those hashbrowns were cut up from real potatoes from our household. We ran out of them over the weekend and I decided to make my own. They were a little undercooked, whoops.Everything all finished and ready to bring into slumbering Scott. Can you believe I woke up at 6:15 am this morning to do that? I don’t think I’ve ever done this for someone. Maybe 2012 is my year for being a morning person. He must be a pretty special guy if you ask me.

My breakfast was smaller since I don’t like sausages, so I had my “big breakfast” with a banana.

Mid-morning I drank a … spot ‘o tea to warm up my insides.

Lunch time was super quick with back to my unhealthy regimen consisting of a frozen dinner and a barq’s root beer. Mmm mouth watering. Seriously though, I love this stuff. I had to go back to Sephora after being there yesterday to return my new Laura Mercier foundation. They re-formulated the moisturizing foundation and the colors are way off. When applied on the face it’s cakey, greasy and orange. Not the look I was going for. Laura Mercier replaced the moisturizing foundation with this moisture supreme orange foundation which got a million and one rants on the rating part of Sephora’s website. Now I’m back on the hunt for another Holy Grail foundation. Bummer.

Schhhnackin’s cause I’m a candy eater. I ate … a lot of these. Come to Canada and this is what our currency looks like. This is a loonie, or $1.00.

Supper â€” my most favorite meal of the entire day. I’m not a big breakfast person, more of a indulge in supper kinda gal. This is one of my by-far favorite meals I make. I actually got my brother to write his recipe down when I was in Newfoundland back in October, and now it’s staple in our household. Yum yum! Lemon pepper chicken stir fry.

So there you have it â€” a What I ate Wednesday blog post. Do you like these sort of posts? Want me to keep doing them? Hoo boy, this blog posts takes a lot of work taking photos and inserting them and talking about each and every food photo. It’s hard being a food blogger for a day!

I was supplied the chobani free of charge, but it was so tasty I couldn’t help blog about it. Did you know that you can cook with it too? Here are some recipes I found on their site.
