I’m an old-school organizer and constantly write things down on sheets of paper, on my calendar or in a scrap book. I’m not one to use my cell phone or computer’s calendar. I’m not going to show you what my calendar looks like since it has personal info on it, but it is quite organized! Which is why I’m telling you about I site I found recently. As a Graphic Designer I can totally appreciate what everyone has done to make the website what it is today. I love everything about it.

What I personally love on the site is the personalized weekly planners you can buy. All sorts of designs, all kinds of variety.

Just because I do a lot of reviews and giveaways in the run of an average month, doesn’t mean that I’m accepting anyone and everyone who e-mails me. Not everyone who contacts me, makes it on this blog. If you ever have any questions about whether or not I got a product for free to review, I do mention it in my blog post. If not, you can always question me in the comments below. Some of my reviews are even products I purchased myself.

Not every company gets a positive review from me. Vasanti has given me 3 great products to try out from bronzer, to mascara and eye cream. The eye cream made my eyes puff up. I’m just telling it like it is. It was strange though since it was a de-puffing cream, and had 4.5 stars out of 5 with 200+ reviews on their site.

Some PR companies don’t seem that internet savvy and I almost always delete the e-mails as soon as I see Hello Blogger, or just a plain simple Hello. They are most likely getting my gmail e-mail address from the right hand side of my bio here on my website and the third word, I say my first name. It’s a real pain in the arse to see something so informal, especially if that company wants me to help them! No way in the freaking world. You address me just like any other personal dealings. Just because it’s not face-to-face doesn’t mean that it should be addressed otherwise. It shows they did their research if they address me by Nancy, and not by spiffykerms, or hello or hello blogger.

I didn’t write this blog post because of a particular instance. I just want my readers to be able to relate to me, trust my reviews and continue to be a reader of spiffykerms.com :)

As I said I’ve been on a blogging spree blogging about guitar easy songs and everything in between. What does everyone have planned for this Wednesday evening? I’m starving, so I’m going to have supper basically all made for me when I get back from CrossFit.

Morning all!It’s hump-day, almost the weekend yet again. Boy the years are just flying right on by, aren’t they!?

I wanted to make a quick blog post to tell you about something. On Monday I was featured for the forth time on ActiveWearUSAs website. This time the topic was: Makeup at the Gym— is it ever okay?

With the amount of giggling that Julie and I do, you would think that we haven’t seen each other in months and had tons of catching up to do. That’s what our server at the local Boston Pizza up the road, thought of us when we dropped in for lunch randomly on Monday afternoon. No, we just work across the hall from each other and make everyone want to work with us when we go out and have fun.

We love pizza! This is my excited face.

Jule-ster had a coupon to use. She’s a learnin’! Saving money = awesome.Full on sugar pepsi. This girl’s gonna be hyper. A personalized Rustic Italian, for the lil’ Italian lady.  Looks like love, right? I had a deluxe pizza, and I posed kinda creepy looking so you’re not going to get to see that one.

By the end of our lunch hour, we were the only one’s in the entire restaurant and couldn’t get our server’s attention for more (!!) pepsi, and our bill at the end of the lunch. Plus, heck man—we were on a time limit. We only got an hour for lunch. It was a tad annoying.

Love breaking up the day with a lunch time date with a co-worker (and not having to get HCG shots Austin done)! So fun!

I don’t know whether it’s because I simplified my makeup routine in January or if it’s the new Marcelle BB cream, but in the mornings after I get out of the shower and moisturize my face, I feel like I’m not as red and splotchy looking on my cheeks.

The Marcelle BB cream photographs a little light I’ve noticed which is kind of a pain. I honestly didn’t think I would like this product as much as I did, and I’m surprised that I’m using it every day. I do feel that I still require some bronzer and blush to make my face not look as flat, where as the Laura Mercier foundation, I don’t always need to do that.

The BB cream only comes in two shades, and I presume I was sent the lightest one but I can’t be sure. But I’m definitely pleased with this product, it even made it into my Skin Saviors post, and I’m definitely going to use the entire tube of it.

There are several factors making CrossFit effective. You may notice that in most CrossFit gyms there aren’t any mirrors. CrossFit believes on feeling the proper form and movements in your body rather than seeing them.

But before I get into it, you get what you put into CrossFit. To make your body and mind respond, you need to put in hard work. With CrossFit you don’t hit plateaus because the workouts are consistently changing and confusing your body. You never have to endure on an ab day or arms day at the regular gym again. Those can be dreadful. CrossFit is a consistent mixture of it all.

Just because someone is buff looking (think Arnold Schwarchnegger back in the 80’s) doesn’t mean they’re powerful. CrossFit makes you strong all over.

Compete with yourself. Log your workouts so the next time an exercise comes up that you did previously you can look back on what you did that time, and beat it! It’s simple, and it works.

A typical session at CrossFit may include a variety of gymnastics, sprinting, and power lifting. These exercises are done with the weight of your own body, kettlebells and free weights. They’re done hard, fast and with little to no rest in between ‘sets’. The reason behind this is that you challenge your muscles more when you do short bursts. It stimulates them making them more effective than low intensity workouts. CrossFit is the whole package of speed, balance, and strength.

When doing gymnastics moves at CrossFit your whole body has to work in sequence and you build up to certain moves. You don’t just walk in there and do a handstand your first day. You also won’t see us doing bicep curls, or leg extensions as they take away from the “chain” that puts these movements together at CrossFit. The compound movements that you do in other workouts will build up your strength so your body is well balanced and prepared for your next handstand.

Don’t forget that resting will help recover your muscles. Don’t take that for granted, even if the workout was only a half hour. Crossfit will never get easy. You can always go faster, or add more weight to your workout. That being said, you won’t get bored as you’re constantly being challenged.

However, you won’t find me installing any undermount kitchen sinks anytime soon. I may be strong from CrossFit, but I ain’t no plummah! :)
