Hourglass Vanish Foundation (with before/after pics!)

hourglass-boxWhen I first opened the pr box I got from Hourglass, I thought (and tweeted out) “whoa nelly“. I mean, what a beauty! I’m still fairly new to the Hourglass line, only using their Arch Brow for my eyebrows, and the ever so popular ambient lighting powder in the shade dim light that I bought a mini size of at Sephora. Everything that I’ve tried from them has been nothing but excellent and well worth the money.

Vanish-FoundationHourglass recently launched their Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation available in 26 shades! Shaped in a triangle tube, applied as a stick-foundation. But don’t let that scare you away. I know we’ve all tried stick foundations that either didn’t blend well, or applied too thick.

It’s not the case with the Vanish Foundation, because it’s all in the name. It really does vanish into the skin. You know I love me a natural foundation look!

Hourglass-VanishSee how I apply it, after the jump!

Hourglass-VanishApplication is easy with this stick foundation, the formula is highly concentrated so you only need a few dots then add more as necessary. I apply a few dots on my cheeks as I have the most redness there, a dot on top of my nose, a few on my forehead and one easy quick dab on my chin, then blend in with the foundation brush (it also applies beautifully with the Beauty Blender sponge, too! So try that!).

Hourglass-Vanish-swatchYou’ll notice that the swatch on my arm (or my face-pics above) that the foundation is not matte. I’m not a matte foundation type of person. It definitely has a velvety smooth finish that feels as though you’re not wearing any foundation at all. Exactly the type of foundation I go for. You can build it up to a higher coverage foundation, but I prefer to have it look more natural.

Vanish-brushI also received the Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Brush. A dense makeup brush that has a similar feel to my real technique’s brush that I use for my daily makeup. But this one has a little something extra. More weight to it, and a more luxurious feel to it. It blends the foundation in beautifully, and it also works (as you’d imagine) with my other foundations (think: Diorskin Forever foundation, or Estee Lauder Double Wear). I love buffing a base layer like foundation into my skin to make it look natural, and like my skin — not product laying over top.

  1. You looks gorgeous Nancy! I have never tried a stick foundation actually, but this one looks awesome. Natural coverage is totally my jam. I’m not a big fan of matte foundation either. I need to try more Hourglass makeup!
