Dior Rouge Prêt-À-Porter Swatches

Dior-RougeDior Rouge are my favourite type of lipstick by Dior, as the colour pay off is simply incredible with a subtle hint of powder scent that luckily doesn’t transform onto the lips (not a fan of smelly lips!). Back in August I gave you a peek of the Dior Rouge Prêt-À-Porter, and today I’m showing you how they swatch.

With a slight glossy feel to the lipstick, I love how you only need a light swatch on the lips and you can transform your entire look with a vampy deep lip like the first picture on the left, or an easy going neutral lip if you were to wear Carré D’or. However, given that, I personally wouldn’t layer on coats of Bar or Carré D’Or simply due to the fact they have more shimmer than I would like, and they look better paired with a darker lip to give a slight shimmer to the centre of one’s lip. For the sake of genuine swatches, I wanted to show you what they looked like on their own.

By the way, if you haven’t tried a Rouge Dior before, you have to because the formula is just awesome with a very good pigmentation. – See more at: http://www.nailderella.com/2014/07/dior-fall-2014-swatches.html#sthash.T1VWtdNc.dpuf

What colour could you see yourself wearing? I admit, not all lipsticks excite me, and like every collection I was hesitant on a few of the colours. This time being the two lightest ones, they seemed shimmery in the tube, but both turned out to be somewhat wearable every day colours — if you like shimmer. I like a nice surprise. My favourite on me are the two deepest shades. One day I’ll get enough courage to walk out of the house with the intense deep, rich colours and not worry about having lipstick all over my teeth. How do you do it? When I smile, I smear it all over my teeth. I need help, or your tips. Please share your lipstick wearing tips with me.

Dior Rouge Prêt-À-Porter lipsticks retail for $36CDN and have become available as of August 1, 2014.

  1. To keep lipstick from on your teeth you stick your finger in your mouth, pucker around them and pull it out. The excess lipstick stays on your finger instead of your teeth. Then you just wash your hands. Try it out! My favs on you are the lightest and the darkest. Have to admit, I wouldn’t have the guts to go out with a dark colour either.

  2. I love post like these!!! Those colors are pretty! I will say that I always do the finger test whenever I wear really poppy colors! I make an “O” shape and pull my finger through! and it usually takes off the which would be on my teeth! :)

  3. I am really loving the two darker colors. I am in the same boat, I wouldn’t really like the lighter colors because of the shimmer aspect of them. They are gorgeous colors, but I would have liked them better if they were a matte or even a satin.

  4. Ok I seriously want every single one of those colors. The one far left caught my eye at first but I love ALL of them on!!
