Beautiful Burges

Bonerific font: Burges Script. Last week we purchased it at work, and I had no idea how to use it at first, because I went into Photoshop and tried to just type some random crap. It didn’t look as fancy as it did online! Trying to figure it out for myself after 5 minutes I got annoyed and I called the Veer 1–800 customer service number and was like “Wtf am I doing wrong?”, apparently I had to use either InDesign or Illustrator (my pick) and use the Glyph’s palette. OMG WONDERFUL. I’m in love with this font.

So I created a little image banner for you all to look at and drool over, and ponder whether or not you’ll get it too.

So, got any plans for this weekend? Last night I had a really late soccer game (10:30PM!!)—we are so unbeatable. Ever since we started both of our indoor leagues back in mid–October we haven’t lost a game. However, last night was an exception. We’re at the top of our tier with other teams not even close to beating us. I’ve managed to somehow score a goal if not two, pretty much every game. We’re on such a high right now. We have also only tied one game. I’m on the same team as I play with my outdoor ladies, except we’re split in half. So sometimes we have to play our other half team, but in indoors. It’s really quite fun, especially getting out of the house twice a week on Thursdays, and Sunday evenings. It keeps me from committing to purchasing a year long gym membership. They want the money up front! Anyway, we’ll see how the new year goes as far as money is.

This weekend I plan on getting my Christmas party dress out of storage, along with the fancy dancin’ shoes. I also plan on going to take another trip into Toronto tomorrow morning to do a little shopping for myself, since I’m done the whole Christmas shopping for everyone on my list. YAY!

We all have our favorite products

What’s this? Blogging 4 times in two days? Madness! So like the topic says, we all have our favorite products. But of course, they sometimes get discontinued. Since we’re on the topic of creams and lotions and my eczema is dying for some slathering of cream, I decided to question you all.

Believe it or not, if I love some kind of product I use it sparingly in case the certain thing I use… gets discontinued. My mom gave me a huge pump jar of this Johnson & Johnson lotion (that smells so divine). I couldn’t bare to use it each day. However the past 4 or 5 months, every few days I’ve been using it on my legs after I get out of the shower. I can smell it now, I can’t wait to have another shower after I get back from my soccer game tonight. ANYWAY, I haven’t searched that hard for a new bottle, but I think I’ll have to start soon, because it’s pretty much almost all used up. Anyone know where this exact pink lotion bottle is? Maybe I’ll check walmart…or I can resort to the expensive MAC products, but I don’t want to slather that $30 4oz pump jar all over my body.

Dry skin?

Ugh. I’m so very well taken care of at work! It’s amazing really. I had a job before this one that I thought was too good to be true, and it was in fact. I was literally given an ultimatum, so I had to quit after eight months of being there. It was terrible and it brought me down so bad.

Anyway. The past few weeks it’s been getting dryer and colder outside, which in turn makes my skin suck all the moisture out, and out comes my yearly annoyance of eczema located in different random spots each year. I have no idea where I put my eczema cream that my dermatologist prescribed to me, but I’ve been itching all day at work. It hurts! So semi–off topic with eczema, my boss came back from lunch this afternoon and bought me this Avène Cold Cream lip balm. After applying continuous hourly coats of some no name brand I stole from Scott’s triathlon swag bags I believe that this Avène stuff is really one of the better products I’ve tried. I applied it once this morning and that was that! No more reapplying—I just rubbed my lips together and they don’t feel flaky or dry anymore. The lip balm is actually pretty expensive (and French), but I think I’ll be keeping this one on hand, constantly.

My boss bought a couple of things for herself, including this really soothing thermal spring mist spray stuff, that’s almost like water. I sprayed it on my face, but nothing happened because my face wasn’t sore or anything. But I sprayed it on my arm, where my eczema was and it stopped being sore, and red! Like, it’s totally gone! Plus all that avène stuff is all hypoallergenic for sensitive skin like mine. Maybe it’s not the best answer, and maybe I should find my prescribed stuff… but I’m quite impressed. If you want more info about the product line, you can view their American website here. Annnnd, if you’re Canadian, you can get all this awesome stuff at the beauty counter in Shopper’s Drug Mart.

I am all about it.
